The greenest piece of furniture is the one you never replace. A dining table that serves fifty years of Sunday lunches beats five flat-pack tables on every measure — carbon, cost and character. Sustainability in woodwork starts with longevity.

Choose timber with a passport

We build first with FSC-certified oak, ash and walnut, and second with locally salvaged beams — old barn oak, school gym maple, orchard walnut. Every Carvex quote names the species and its source, so you know exactly which forest or farm your table came from.

Finish with chemistry you can pronounce

Hardwax oils and natural waxes protect beautifully, repair invisibly and never off-gas in your home. A scratched oiled top needs an evening and a rag — not a full chemical strip and a trip to landfill.

Repair, don't replace

Our restoration bench stays busier than our showroom some months, and we like it that way. A re-glued chair or re-oiled top costs a fraction of replacement and keeps decades of embodied energy working for you.
